About a year and a half ago I went on a women’s retreat with eight other women, hosted by the Chief Founding Mom of Fit4Mom, Lisa Druxman. We were encouraged to make and write down who we were and what we believed in. There was no right or wrong, nor were there any judgements passed. At the time, I was a very new mom to a six month old baby, was no longer working full-time, and was deciding whether or not to embark on a completely new and foreign adventure with my husband, Sean to Texas.
I was still trying to figure out ME.
Well, it’s been a year and a half since then and here I am, a full-time, stay-at-home, work-from-home, mama, wife, and student (again), who took a huge leap of faith to leave everything I knew in Southern California and moved to North Texas with my family.
We moved just over 10 months ago and it has been a whirlwind of emotions, yet such an incredible journey thus far. So much about who I am as a person, as a wife, and as a mom has changed in such a short amount time.
I’ve been debating on whether or not I wanted to post this, but tonight I thought “what the heck”, if my post can encourage at least one person to be brave and open up about themselves, then this post would have served it purpose. It’s difficult to open up and it’s scary sometimes; we need more love for one another and more genuine people in this world, without judgment, ridicule, or hate, so here I am, opening up to you; take it or leave it:

I believe that what I am writing right now takes courage.
I believe that I am enough.
This is me, you could judge me or you could embrace me; your choice. This is me and putting this all down on paper (or in my case on screen) makes everything I am and everything I believe in that much more REAL. I am proud of who I am and I hope you feel the same way about yourself. Don’t be afraid to open up, you never know what you will have in common with someone. I would LOVE to hear your story or more about you if you are up for the chat.
