Let me start by saying that I LOVE my tribe of mamas here in Texas. I was so nervous about what this move to Texas from California would bring, but I was proved incredibly wrong when God placed all of these amazing women in my life, right at the moment in which we moved here.
I am so blessed by each and every one of them. Some of us are in Couple’s Small Group together, we are all in Women’s Bible Study together, and we just DO LIFE TOGETHER.
The best part is….WE ALL HAVE LITTLE BOYS!!! Between just seven of us (which is not everyone), we have 10 little boys, with another little boy on the way, and another baby on the way that is yet to be determined. We have so much fun and our boys love each other!
Today we had our 1st Annual Pumpkin Painting and Cookie Decorating Party at the park and we all had a blast that we have decided to make it an annual tradition.
Simple as grabbing your mama friends and getting the following, super simple materials:
- $1 Pumpkins at the local market
- Washable Paints (most of us moms already have this at home)
- Halloween Stickers & embellishments (go to your dollar spot at Target – is that what they still call that area??)
- Googly Eyes (craft store)
- Sugar Cookies & Icing for decorating
- Muffins, Coffee, and Water to enjoy (Potluck style!!)
Us moms enjoyed the “mom talk” and the kids enjoyed being outdoors with their friends, crafting and eating cookies!!! #momwin
This is a super simple and fun craft for toddlers or kids of any age for that matter to enjoy during the Halloween season. It was so amazing to see how focused these little 2 – 3 year olds were when you put a pumpkin, paintbrushes, and stickers in front of them!
We made some sugar cookies and attempted to decorate the cookies as well, BUT we only had black icing and couldn’t get the orange icing opened (haha, oh well!!).
All in all, this Halloween craft is now a favorite and going to be an annual tradition among my fellow mamas and I!! I encourage you to grab a gal pal, get the kiddos outside, and enjoy a morning (or afternoon) of painting pumpkins and park play!!
I am a firm believer that creativity and crafting is good for the soul!!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! I’d say this was a SUCCESS!!
